The Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager - Calibration, Expected Performance and Future Challenges
Jesper Schou, Stanford University
The HMI instrument has been delivered and integrated with the SDO
spacecraft which is currently undergoing the final tests before
shipment to the launch site with an expected launch date of late
2008 or early 2009.
In this talk I will discuss the calibrations performed on HMI and
describe the expected performance. I will also discuss the challenges ahead,
including what will be done during commissioning and how we will
transitions from MDI to HMI.
